Pianist Khrystyna Mykhailichenko was born in Crimea and after Russian occupation and the outbreak of the Ukraine war moved with her family to Kyiv and then to Corbridge in Northumberland via Poland. She has performed since the age of 5 and in her childhood won a number of international competitions, ceasing competitive activities in 2016. Since settling in the UK in 2022 she has studied at the Junior Department of the Royal Northern College of Music before taking up a place at the Royal Academy of Music in London, as a student of Joanna MacGregor.
