Pianist and writer Susan Tomes has won numerous awards as a pianist, both on the concert platform and the recording studio, including several Gramophone Awards and the 2013 Cobbett Medal. A noted chamber musician in ensembles such as Domus, the Gaudier Ensemble and the Florestan Trio she is now concentrating on solo performing and writing. Her seventh book 'Women and the piano – a History in 50 Lives' was launched in March 2024 and celebrated with a solo concert in the Wigmore Hall.
