Trio Zadig
Joseph Haydn
Piano Trio in G major 'Gypsy Rondo', Hob XV:25
Dmitri Shostakovitch
Trio No2 in E minor Op67
Franz Schubert
Trio in E flat major Op.100
Regrettably the Busch Trio, our original trio, have had to cancel due to the imminent arrival in February of a new baby. They have kindly recommended a superb relpacement for us, the Trio Zadig who will be changing one of the Busch's original programme, Haydn's beatiful Gypsy Rondo trio is now included, and the extraordinary Shostakovich Trio N 2 remains along with one of Schubert's last and greatest works, his E Flat Trio.
The French Trio Zadig, consist of French violinist and cellist, Boris Borgolotto and Marc Girard Garcia, and American pianist Ian Barber.. They have won 11 international prizes including the First Prize of the “Fnapec Musiques d’Ensemble” – in the footsteps of renowned ensembles like the Ysaÿe Quartet, the Ebene Quartet and the Wanderer Trio.
The Trio Zadig has performed all over the world, from the USA to Taiwan, as well as in prestigious halls like the BOZAR, Shanghai City Theater, Paris’ Philharmonic and the Salle Cortot. In parallel with this demanding schedule, the Trio has met with great artists who have contributed to the development of its musical expression, most notably Ivry Gitlis and Menahem Pressler.
You can hear Menahem Pressler's comments on their playing by visiting the videos we have installed on this website. Menahem Pressler was a member of the legendary Beaux Arts trio.
